  • 1935

     The Lutheran Church in the United States of America arranged for a survey team to visit Nigeria in 1936 for the first time following Jonathan Udo Ekong’s request.

  • 1936

 The beginning of the work of the Lutheran in Nigeria was in 1936.

  • 1938

Ordained Lutheran pastor at St. Luke’s congregation Chicago, lllinois in 1938.

Returned to Nigeria in 1938 as a missionary of the Evangelical Lutheran Church at Nung Udoe where he supervised congregations at Nung Udoe,Abak and Okpo in Otoro District.

  • 1946

He moved to Ikot Ibritam.

  • 1940

He moved to Calabar. 

  • 1955

       Left Calabar to teach at Lutheran High School Obot Idim till 1962.

  • 1963

      Made supervision of parishes of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Nigeria held till May 1971.

  • 1971

     Honoured by Concordia Seminary St. Louis, Missouri, in the United States of America with an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Theology in recognition of his many years of faithful ministry in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
